Recreational retail marijuana is TRAGIC, not safe, recreational marijuana is a heavy form of over-prescribing which does not do well for young people, deaths go up in areas it is implemented. Young adults ages 25-34 years old are vulnerable, are especially hard hit by recreational marijuana at the same time illicit substances increase.

Over-prescribing is when a person is prescribed "extra" just in case it is needed - that extra has a history of making its way to people not intended, like young people, with devastating results.

Recreational marijuana is Reckless Over-prescribing abuse: Colorado, Washington and Alaska, instituted recreational marijuana, which is a form of "reckless over-prescribing", which allows residents over 21 to use marijuana, a mind-altering substance for any reason, no longer needing a doctor prescription, it has no limits (abuse is measured in limits, a poison with no limits is reckless abuse) - it takes doctors out of the prescribing process, eliminates medical safety, it is no wonder people end up strung out on drugs, homeless, can’t think straight because regulations that protected the young, old and special needs are eliminated with LAX recreational law.

Overprescribing does not do well for young people in the area it is implemented, as mind altering substance use increases in an area - accidents, suicides, deaths, homelessness, runaways, prostitution, violence, human trafficking, theft, arrests, child abuse and sicknesses increase due to the high/drunk deceiving effect a mind-altering substance has on a person. Marijuana is a mind-altering substance.

Does the proposal have a plan to support recovery when 3% THC (or low-level nicotine) no longer works, or instead of do they leave the door open for higher potency, more drug use. A teen addicted to THC gets older, reaches legal drinking age and drives, may reach for an alcoholic drink during a celebration, their addiction begins to double. As addiction increases, the ability to make good decisions decreases, depression sets in as substances begin to wear off, they might reach for a substance to feel better. Soon young adults start losing control, at the same time, there are other deadly poisonous mind-altering substances that have entered the state such as meth, opiates, cocaine and Xanax, etc. Illicit drugs increase in areas where marijuana is instituted, which is very bad for community, young people and families.

Some states, like Delaware and New Mexico, allow heavy over-prescribing, this also has a history of making it's way to young people with tragic, devastating death increase. Delaware and New Mexico are top 15, WORST, death rate states for ages 25-34 recent six years, Delaware heavy over- prescribes medicinal 10 months instead of 2 weeks. New Mexico previously overprescribed 6 ounces now 8 ounces = an outrageous 14+ months supply of marijuana which has a history of making it's way to young people with devastating results.

Safe Mind-altering substance laws have a maximum 14 day limit, a 2 week limit to eliminates over-prescribing. This Proposal does not include a 14 day limit.

Young deaths increase in areas where lax mind-altering substance laws are instituted. Boulder County, the first county in Colorado to implement recreational marijuana, Boulder experienced tragic significant 16.0% county death increase, recent six years after recreational implementation, death rate increased significantly 38.4 points, prayers to all of the families affected by this, don't let this happen to your county: Boulder, Colorado TRAGIC, 66.7% death increase ages 5-14 years old, 13.7% death increase ages 15-24 years old, 24.7% death increase ages 25-34 years old recent 6 years 2013-2018

Marijuana is a mind-altering substance, not a magical drug that keeps young people safe from opiates; instead it is a gateway to the idea of using a mind-altering substance which is a bad idea with deadly illicit substances increasing in the U.S. and other countries.

Marijuana THC is the part that gets a person high, THC should have a 3% limit, thirty years ago average marijuana THC was 3%. Without limits on potency, in some cases, marijuana THC has tragically increased 2,567%, see dabbing, extracts and oils below, extreme, dangerous high potency leads to quick addiction, sickness and accidents. Teens Marijuana Use:

How do we know marijuana is making its way to the hands of teens, a sad note by NIDA, December 2017, states "daily marijuana use exceeds daily cigarette use among 8th (0.8 vs. 0.6 percent), 10th (2.9 vs. 2.2 percent) and 12th (5.9 vs. 4.2 percent) graders.

DAILY MARIJUANA USE is physical addiction in young people, if they do not receive support, their tolerance goes up and they will need more and more just to function without hurting, these are the struggles teens face today due to lax laws that removed strong barriers to prevent substances from reaching young people. This puts teens in a bad position, illicit substances increase in areas where lax laws are implemented, they might reach for a worse, more deadly substance just trying to feel better.

If Initiative 190 passes, drug dealing amounts of marijuana would be legal in Montana homes a child visits where people are over 21 years of age. - - 1 ounce of addictive marijuana can be in a house a child visits where people are over 21 years of age

1 ounce equals 28.3495231 Grams x (1 joint/ 0.5 grams) = 56.6990462 joints=

1 ounce equals =56.6990462 joint cigarettes (0.5 grams) = which is at least a 56 day supply of marijuana, which is almost a 2 month supply = this this is potentially a drug dealing supply of marijuana (this is eight week supply of marijuana instead of a safe two week supply of marijuana, it is a two week supply for four people instead of a two week supply for one person).

So if this proposal passes, homes where residents are over 21 years of age can have a 1 ounce supply of marijuana = 56.6990462 joint cigarettes (0.5 grams) = at least a 56 day supply of marijuana, (amounts over a 14 day personal supply is potentially a drug dealing supply of marijuana), very unsafe for residents, especially unsafe for young people in the area. The "extra" has a history of reaching people not intended, teens and young adults with devastating results.

Initiative 190 proposes to legalizing selling drugs, marijuana is a mind-altering substance, if you have kids, the entablement can be made near you - Illicit substances increase in areas that go recreational, would that make you feel safe and will it make your child feel safe - vote "NO" do not let it happen near you.

If Initiative 190 passes, it legalizes the possession and use of one ounce or less of marijuana or 8 grams or less of marijuana concentrate by persons over the age of 21. The ballot initiative would allow persons over the age of 21 to grow no more than four marijuana plants and four seedlings for personal use in their residence, as long as the plants are within an enclosed area with a lock and beyond public view.

"Concentrate" listed in the paragraph above is potentially very BAD. According to NIDA, marijuana concentrates (e.g., extracts, wax or dabs) can be as high as 75.9 % THC, thus have as much as 0.3975 grams of 100% THC, which is a 15080% increase in THC comparing medicinal marijuana to concentrate – super dangerous potency increase!!!

Calculations is (.3975/0.0025 = 159 medicinal marijuana joints in one 75.9% THC .5g joint. So if a person has 8g of 75.9% THC concentrate = that means they have the equivalent of 2,544 medicinal joints. There are two .5 grams per 1 gram. So 159 medicinal marijuana joints times 2 = 318 times 8 = 2,544 medicinal doses, which is way past a 14 day personal supply, significant potential overprescribing, which has a history of making it's way to young people with devastating results.

According to NIDA, marijuana concentrates can have between 23.7% and 75.9% THC.

If Initiative 190 passes, Consuming marijuana or being under the influence of marijuana would remain illegal while driving, flying an aircraft, or boating. Smoking marijuana would remain illegal in public places and open spaces.

If Initiative 190 passes, employers can prohibit marijuana use on the employer's property and enforce disciplinary action on employees for violations.[2]

If Initiative 190 passes, Montana residents would be allowed to possess, use, and grow marijuana on January 1, 2021. The initiative's resentencing and expungement provisions would also take effect that day.
